I should start by saying I am not an avid listener of the genre(s) covered on this podcast; in fact, I am not an avid listener of podcasts in general. I live in the alt-rock world most of the time, but my musical knowledge is expansive. I'm a total audiophile and I'm always open to new sounds. That's what The Metal Exchange gives me - exposure to new things. Now, sometimes exposure isn't enough, which is where Chris and Justin really shine. These two are so passionate and knowledgeable about what they do, it's infectious; they make me want to hear more, learn more. Sometimes, I end up really enjoying music I may not have otherwise taken to simply because of how much they enjoy it, or because of the context they give it through their discussions and their interviews. And, even when a band doesn't particularly strike me, I enjoy the podcast itself and appreciate the work they're doing. It's really fun to witness their enthusiasm and expertise, and their dynamic is fantastic; when you combine all that, you get a really great listener experience that makes the podcast itself entertaining no matter what they're listening to that week. Keep on keepin' on, guys. You quite literally rock. :)

I’ve been listening to Chris & Justin for almost a year now and TME has become something that I thoroughly look forward to each week. They’re both passionate about the music we love, covering both current and classic releases. It’s fun to interact with them on the social media front as well, because you feel like you know them after listening to numerous episodes! Lol P.S. I’m looking forward to the annual Savatage episode in 2022, so let’s get to thinking about which masterpiece we’ll be hearing about gentlemen! 😬 ~Brian Clough~

This is exactly what I want from a metal review podcast - two guys who are obviously so passionate and knowledgeable about the subject discussing a different album every week. As someone whose tastes skew more European, who is still rather disheartened that many European bands do not get their due in the American metal scene, I further find it refreshing that they regularly discuss releases from genres like Power Metal, Symphonic Metal, and Folk Metal. Anyone with even a cursory interest in metal owes it to themselves to give The Metal Exchange a listen.
